Canada may soon be getting back it’s favorite terrorist – Omar Khadr set to return

Oh aren’t we a lucky bunch in Canada. After years of legal wrangling, and the usual furious protests from the left denouncing the Conservative government for allowing a “child soldier” to be locked away in Guantanamo Bay, it appears that Canada’s day of reckoning has arrived. Omar Khadr is nearly set to be returned to Canada, where he would almost immediately be eligible for parole.
A source familiar with the file said U.S. Secretary of Defence Leon Panetta was expected to sign off on the transfer within a week.
“It’s on his desk, it’s ready,” the source said Wednesday.
“The U.S. has no concerns about (Khadr).”
Khadr has been caught up in a bureaucratic “Catch-22″ since becoming eligible to leave the American prison on Cuba last October under terms of a plea agreement struck a year earlier.
The Toronto-born Khadr, 25, pleaded guilty before a much maligned U.S. military commission to five war crimes he committed as a 15-year-old in Afghanistan in July 2002.
In exchange, the Canadian citizen was given an eight-year sentence, with one year to be served in Guantanamo Bay and the remainder in Canada.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s government has been in no hurry to approve the transfer request, which Khadr’s lawyers submitted to both governments a year ago.
Instead, the source said, Ottawa has been scrutinizing the application far more closely than required, looking at issues such as his parole eligibility, which would essentially be almost immediate.
“I think they have stalled the proceedings — the U.S. would have sent him home a lot earlier if things had been worked out in Canada,” the source said.
And once paroled, he would most likely join the rest of his Canada hating family on welfare, all the while railing against the “evil” of the west. This is the family that saw Osama Bin Laden attend their eldest daughter’s wedding, and the sons and fathers have been implicated in numerous terrorist plots. The patriarch, Ahmed Khadr was fighting with al-Qaeda forces and Omar Khadr was captured by American forces after murdering army medic Christopher Speers.
Any yet even with this history, every time one of them have sustained serious injuries abroad, they have faithfully returned to Canada. Once here they help themselves to free medical treatment and financial assistance.
I doubt that even Stephen Harper’s government can delay the return of Omar Khadr much longer, but if most Canadian’s had their way, he wouldn’t return until he was a toothless old man.

No one can say that I’m a fan of Hollywood, but sometimes even I get surprised by the odd behaviour that many stars exhibit. While some are well meaning and just clueless to how the average American lives, others are, well – just plain odd. The following video of Alicia Silverstone has gone viral, where she demonstrates that she feeds her toddler by spitting pre-chewed food into his mouth. Be warned – this video is going to haunt your for the rest of your day.
I just had a delicious breakfast of miso soup, collards and radish steamed and drizzled with flax oil, cast iron mochi with nori wrapped outside, and some grated daikon. Yum! I fed Bear the mochi and a tiny bit of veggies from the soup…from my mouth to his. It’s his favorite…and mine. He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I’m eating. This video was taken about a month or 2 ago when he was a bit wobbly. Now he is grabbing my mouth to get the food!
David Suzuki comes out swinging at Christians
Never one to be left off the fashionable left-wing bandwagon, David Suzuki has come out swinging at Christians, just as the rhetoric against them is heating up in the United States. Like many of the left-wing talking heads south of the border, Suzuki is blaming Christians for stifling science and pretty much being at the root of the world’s ills.
The State of Tennessee, for example, passed a law that allows teachers who don’t believe in evolution or human-caused climate change to challenge existing scientific theories. Yes, students should be encouraged to think critically and to question everything they are taught but, given the current political climate in the U.S., this is likely to lead to misinformation.
I’m only going to briefly comment on creationism, since most liberals seem to think that the modern Christian has the scientific understanding of a dung covered, illiterate 14th century peasant. It has been reduced to such a straw man argument, that it’s a waste of time to point out that current Christian theories ranges from intelligent design, to God simply initiating the big bang and evolution following naturally.
But notice what is insinuated when he lumps global warming and evolution together. Not only does he imply that only an uneducated country bumpkin could disagree with either of these theories, but he also goes on to say that students should be free to question everything they are taught – but we really can’t trust them to. The political climate might make them believe something other than what the left wants to indoctrinate… I mean teach them about global warming.
In the article, David Suzuki really holds most of his criticism for the current GOP candidates. You can practically feel the disdain dripping from the words he writes about Rick Santorum. Not only does Santorum dare to question global warming, but he also challenges the other sacred cows of the left – abortion and gay rights.
Rick Santorum just seems out of touch on every issue, from rights for women and gays to the environment. He’s referred to climate change as a “hoax” and once said, “We were put on this Earth as creatures of God to have dominion over the Earth, to use it wisely and steward it wisely, but for our benefit not for the Earth’s benefit.”
That statement is in keeping with the Cornwall Alliance’s Evangelical Declaration on Global Warming, which has been signed by a range of religious leaders, media people, and even some who work in climate science, such as Roy Spencer, David Legates, and Ross McKitrick. It says, in part, “We believe Earth and its ecosystems — created by God’s intelligent design and infinite power and sustained by His faithful providence — are robust, resilient, self-regulating, and self-correcting, admirably suited for human flourishing, and displaying His glory. Earth’s climate system is no exception.” It also states that reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide and fossil fuel use will “greatly increase the price of energy and harm economies.”
But you know what? Recent research from people who are labelled deniers by the global warming faithful, is showing that many of earth’s systems are more resilient than previously thought. Can it be that the global warming cataclysm predicted by the left, is actually based on poor assumptions and badly flawed climate models?
And of course there is still time in the article to smear Stephen Harper’s scary, and suddenly fundamentalist Christian, Conservative Party.
Lest we get too smug in Canada, we must remember that we have politicians who hold similar religious views and are just as anti-science, although Canada has so far managed to keep religion largely out of politics. But recent cutbacks to government scientific research and staff show that many of our leaders also believe that the environment should take a back seat to corporate interests, and that any science that gets in the way must be hushed up or discredited.
Whether they justify it with religion or political ideology, it still doesn’t make sense.
Many on the left continue to claim that the conservatives have started a war on women, and question why they would alienate such a large voting block. But you don’t have to look hard to see that it is actually the Democrats and Liberals that are maligning an entire religion.
I won’t be so dramatic as to say that there is a war on Christianity, but it’s becoming clear that the left seriously does not like Christians. In they past they took the time to mouth platitudes in support of Christians, and droves of them – Catholics especially voted for them. But with the recent actions of the Democrats, and the continuing push against Catholics by Obama’s administration, that could be changing in the near future.
Global News Canada defends book telling Muslims “how to beat your wife”
It seems that the main stream media has absolutely no shame when it comes to defending radical Islam. Even a Muslim bookstore selling A Gift for Muslim Couple – a book that describes in detail how to properly beat your wife, warrants a news segment that manages to both condemn the bible and defend the bookstore owner.
It’s appalling that they go so far as to allow a Muslim to pick out a random quote from the bible and use it to justify the wife beating instructions in the modern book A Gift for Muslim Couple. When will the media come to realization that Muslims don’t want this sort of barbarism in their society. You don’t have to defend every backward belief like beating wives in the name of tolerance. The next thing you know, they’ll be defending honour killings. Oh wait, they already did.

Spike Lee tweeted the wrong address for George Zimmerman
Please wait a moment while I slow clap for Spike Lee’s brilliant idea to post George Zimmerman’s address on Twitter. It now turns out that the empty headed nincompoop tweeted the wrong address to his 240,000 followers – which was retweeted and retweeted until it had been seen by millions of people.
Even when I believed that the address tweeted was the correct one for George Zimmerman, I still thought it was an extremely reckless thing to do. Now that the address has been revealed to actually be the home of a retired couple that have no connection to George Zimmerman, will anyone on the left pause for a moment and reflect on just how dangerous this rush to condemn Zimmerman has become?
With Twitter and Facebook continuing to explode with posts purporting to contain the address of George Zimmerman, property records and interviews reveal that the home is actually the longtime residence of a married Florida couple, both in their 70s, who have no connection to the man who killed Trayvon Martin and are now living in fear due to erroneous reports about their connection to the shooter.
The mass dissemination of the address on Edgewater Circle in Sanford–the Florida city where Martin was shot to death last month–took flight last Friday when director Spike Lee retweeted a tweet containing Zimmerman’s purported address to his 240,000 followers.
So what happens now if something happens to this innocent elderly couple? If some unhinged individual shows up at this property and does something terrible, it will be innocent blood on Spike Lee’s hands. From a bounty placed on George Zimmerman by the Black Panthers, to Obama’s inflammatory statements about how if he had a son, he would look like Trayvon Martin, this situation is completely out of control.
Now that an elderly couple has been placed in the crosshairs of the angry mob crying for Zimmerman’s blood, is there any chance that cooler heads can prevail in this situation? Or is it far more likely as usual, that the standard so rigorously applied to the right and incitement to violence, will just be ignored by the left-wing media.
Left-wing insanity in the media – Trayvon Martin updates
For those of you not carefully following the media circus surrounding the shooting of Trayvon Martin, you might have missed the big developments over the last 24 hours. Here is a quick breakdown of what you might have missed.
George Zimmerman may have acted in self-defense
The police are now confirming that the shooting of Trayvon Martin may have indeed been in self-defense. It comes as no surprise that the story is changing yet again, since the original narrative was that of an angelic Trayvon Martin, being hunted down and murdered by a racist, white thug.
That story has now morphed into something closer to resembling the truth. Trayvon was a troubled kid, who had been suspended from school for allegedly selling drugs and George Zimmerman has been revealed to be a Latino, who of all things is a registered Democrat. And instead of just gunning down Trayvon in cold blood, it now appears that he endured a brutal beating at the hands of Trayvon Martin before any shots were fired.
Trayvon Martin punched George Zimmerman first and knocked him down, then sat on the fallen neighborhood watch captain and banged his head into the ground.
That’s Mr. Zimmerman’s account of the Feb. 26 altercation that ended when he fatally shot Trayvon, according to the Orlando Sentinel, which obtained a police report on the incident. Zimmerman told police that he had lost sight of Trayvon and was returning to his vehicle when he was confronted and attacked by the 17-year-old.
Will these new details change the nature of the case? After all, to this point the story has been framed by an account from Trayvon’s family, which depicts Trayvon as an innocent youngster pursued by an armed vigilante.
Police in Sanford, Fla., have confirmed that Zimmerman blamed Trayvon for the confrontation and insist that he was the person witnesses heard calling for help. Some witnesses back up Zimmerman’s account, according to anonymous sources cited by local media.
And who knows how Trayvon Martin was acting that night? Maybe he was acting suspicious, or maybe Zimmerman really did follow Trayvon and caused a needless confrontation that lead to him being shot and killed. The point is, we don’t know what happened that night, but it’s certainly not looking as clear cut as the left-wing activists and media would have everyone believe.
But facts be damned – they’re going to push forward with the lynching of George Zimmerman, and turn this into racist shooting. One that may lead to scars on the American psyche for years to come.
Drudge Report called racist for using real picture of Trayvon Martin

Over at the Drudge Report, Media Matters has apologized for calling Matt Drudge a racist. It had claimed that the older, and certainly less sympathetic picture of Trayvon Martin that had emerged on the Drudge Report, was a fake, and only there to incite racial tensions. (Something that the rest of the media hasn’t been doing for days.)
A senior analyst with the liberal activist group Media Matters tweeted an apology on Tuesday after calling journalist Matt Drudge a racist and accusing him of using a phony photo of Trayvon Martin.
“Racist demagogue Drudge continues to run photo of some kid, not Trayvon for incitement purposes,” MJ Rosenberg initially tweeted at 10:56 a.m. ET, after drudgereport.com and other media sites posted a photo of Martin sporting a tank top, looking noticeably older and bigger than he appears in a photograph widely carried by media outlets that have reported on the story.
But all evidence is now pointing to the picture being genuine, and even more damning to the picture the media has painted of an innocent Trayvon Martin – his twitter account operated under the name “no-limit-n****a”.
All this has very little relevance on the murder investigation, but it does show the extreme bias of the media in this story. It also lends some credence to George Zimmerman’s account that Trayvon Martin wasn’t the innocent saint that is being portrayed by the media.
Still no comment from the government on the “Dead or Alive” bounty placed on Zimmerman.
I can’t say that I’m shocked by this one, but the blatantly illegal bounty placed on George Zimmerman by the extremist group the Black Panthers, still hasn’t garnered any attention from law enforcement.
How is that the Black Panther panthers can offer a bounty on a U.S citizen – one that hasn’t committed any crime, and face no legal repercussions. They have publicly stated that they plan to form what amounts to a 5,000 man lynch mob and hunt down George Zimmerman. This is a situation one expects to see in an old Western film – an angry posse hunting down a man they feel evaded justice. Not something one expects to see in modern America.
Obviously the parallels aren’t quite the same, but does anyone truly wonder what would happen if a militia group or the KKK offered a bounty to “capture” someone they felt had committed a crime? I doubt Eric Holder and his Justice department would be M.I.A after a statement from those groups.
